Cleaning Your Steamer
• Never immerse the steamer base, mains cable or mains plug in water.
• Unplug at the mains socket and leave the steamer to cool completely for a minimum
of 30 minutes before cleaning.
• Do not clean any part of the steamer with abrasive cleaners, e.g. scouring powders,
scouring pads, wire wool, washing soda, or bleach.
• Do not clean steam baskets, rice bowl and lid with the abrasive pad of a cleaning
sponge.
• We recommend washing the steam baskets, lid, rice bowl and drip tray in hot water
and washing-up liquid. Rinse and dry thoroughly.
• Empty the water basin and change the water after each use.
• Do not immerse the steamer base in water. Wipe the water basin with a damp cloth.
• Wipe the steamer base exterior with a damp cloth.
Care and Maintenance
• Thoroughly defrost frozen meat, poultry, fish and seafood before cooking. Keep raw
meat and poultry separated from cooked foods.
• The cooking time is longer for a larger quantity of food than a smaller quantity.
• To slightly reduce the steaming time you may use warm (but not boiling) water.
• If using more than one steam baskets then the cooking times will need to be
extended.
• If steaming food with a bone, the steaming time will need to be extended.
• When steaming larger quantities of food, remove cover about halfway through the
steaming time and stir using a long handled utensil and wear oven gloves.
• For recipes with long cooking times, reset the timer and top up with more water.
When refilling, always switch off the steamer first and empty the drip tray carefully (if
needed). Add sufficient warm water (but not boiling water) for the remaining time.
• If you want to cook rice using the rice bowl, put 220g of rice and 330ml of water into
the rice bowl. Place the rice bowl in the lowest steam basket.
