CHAPTER 1: Quick Start Guide
This chapter will be for the advanced users who are familiar with programming devices over a web
interface. Those users will probably already be familiar with the remote’s functions, and not need the
detailed button views or nomenclature (as provided in Chapter 2). They’ll want to ‘jump right in’ to
program the Harmony 890.
Minimal instruction (but still more than below!) will be provided, directing that user to:
•
Charge the 890’s battery;
•
Access the Logitech Harmony Remotes’ website;
•
Download the Harmony Remote Software;
•
Update the firmware for the 890 and Wireless Extender;
•
Follow the instructions in the programming interface to:
o
Add the devices you wish to control;
o
Describe the activities you wish to perform using the controlled devices;
o
Customize the 890’s buttons and display;
o
Set up the RF Wireless Extender.
For the less tech-savvy user, the remainder of the User’s Guide will provide a thorough product
introduction and step-by-step instruction to help navigate the programming interface and use the remote.
