Adaption of the Grindlux bandsaw
blade grinder.
It is important to grind the gullet and the
face of the blade tooth. If necessary, also
the tooth back and the tooth tip can be
ground.
Assemble the grinder and make the settings
and preparations that are described in
the manual, including the shapening of
the grinding disc. In its original design,
Grindlux grinds a too shallow tooth profile.
This means that the grinder does not reach
the bottom of the gullet and that it grinds
off too much from the tooth back and the
tooth tip. Due to this, Logosol supplements
the grinder with an adjustable rod holder.
Adjusting the rod holder.
Start with setting the rod holder to its
rightmost position, so that the grinding
head can move as much as possible.
Place a blade on the grinder and only start
the feeder. Adjust the grinding depth of the
grinding head until the grinding disc is in
contact with the face and then the bottom
of the gullet. The grinder will now rise so
quickly that the tooth tip will not be grinded
at all. Adjust the rod holder to the left until
the grinding disc grinds as large part as
possible of the bottom of the gullet, and it
possibly also touches the tooth back and
the tooth tip. Now, the grinding depth of the
grinder is correctly set.
Ball bearing on the blade guide.
On the arm that guides the saw blade after
it has passed the grinding disc, you mount
a ball bearing to improve the feeding of
the blade. Insert the rubber sleeve in the
bearing. Then you push the bearing down
on the outer guide peg.
The rod holder is fastened by a
M4 screw and nut. The screw
goes through the slot in the
holder.
Right: Increases the depth of the
gullet.
Left: Decreases the depth.
