A Product Registration Photo-eye must be fitted to use the Interval and Batch options.
Interval
This option only appears when the Interval Test timing option is selected. It is used to set the
time interval in hours and minutes between carrying out PV tests. See the Interval information
under Test timing above for further details.
Tap in the Hour field to display a pop-up numeric keypad screen and enter the number of
hours required. Then tap in the Minutes field and repeat the process.
Synchronisation
This option only appears when the Interval Test timing option is selected. Its purpose is to set
the exact time to start a PV test.
This is useful in a situation where many detectors are in use to stagger the tests to enable
operators to complete them in an orderly fashion.
Synch time
This option only appears when the Synchronisation option is selected. It is used to set the
exact time in hours and minutes, using the 24 hour format, to start a PV test.
Tap in the Hour field to display a pop-up numeric keypad screen and enter the number of
hours required. Then tap in the Minutes field and repeat the process.
Window
This field is only displayed when either the Interval or Batch Test timing option is selected. It is
used to set a length of time in minutes to successfully complete a PV test, commencing from
the generation of the prompt. When using the Interval Test timing option, the length of time
set cannot be shorter then the time set in the Interval field.
Tap in the field to display a pop-up numeric keypad screen and enter the time in minutes
required.
Fault on timeout
This option is displayed for all test type and timing options. When enabled it forces a system
error to be generated if a PV test is not carried out when required.
Tap in the option check box to enable the option.
Number of passes
This field is displayed for all test type and timing options. It is used to set the number of
passes required for each test wand type to complete a PV test.
o
Guidance on determining the number of passes to be used
For products that exhibit no product effect and where no Product Registration Photo-eye
is fitted, place each test wand type onto the product sample at the leading edge for the
first pass and then on the trailing edge for the second pass to ensure that the change of
reject timing point still results in the correct rejection of the product. A minimum of two
passes per test wand type is therefore suggested.
For products that exhibit no product effect but where a Product Registration Photo-eye is
fitted, you can place each test wand type anywhere within the product length. In this case
a minimum of one pass per test wand type is sufficient.
