3.1 Application
Some solar pumps may not provide
sufficient flow under all conditions. The
LORENTZ PowerPack PP600S allows the
pump to be powered by an AC mains
supply such as a grid or generator.*
For switching between solar and back-
up power, the PV generator must be
switched off with a PV Disconnect. If this
is not done, the pump controller will con-
tinue to run on solar until the voltage of
solar drops below PowerPack voltage. For
a scheduled use of the PowerPack (e.g. to
extend pumping time) a separate (timer)
switch can be used to control the power
supply to the PowerPack. If the auxiliary
power source is switched off, the Power
-
Pack automatically returns to solar-direct
operation (if the PV is switched on).
* Running the pump with a PowerPack
will reduce the maximum speed of the
pump in some applications.
3.2 Which Powerpack should be used?
The PP600S should be used for the
PS-200/PS2-200/PS-600 and PS2-600
controller. In some applications it may
be necessary to use the PP600H for the
PS2-600.

PowerPack is suitable for the application.
