Precautions on Installation
Please ensure you have confirmed the following prior to installing the Mini Speed PTZ Camera:
• Follow all local safety regulations
• If connecting optional accessories, please make sure they are compatible and in complete
working order. For a full list of optional accessories, visit www.lorexcctv.com
• Check if the installation location is strong enough to support the camera and bracket without
immediate danger of falling.
Cable Standards
Coaxial Cable
Select the proper cable length for your installation distance. The maximum recommended lengths
are as follows:
• RG59/U: 750ft (230 meters)
• RG61/U: 1000ft (305 meters)
• RG11/U: 1500ft (457 meters)
RS485 Cable
Please comply with RS485 wiring standards when connecting RS485 cables. Improper
connections may result in transmission errors which may cause speed dome cameras to react
incorrectly.
If you use thin or low anti-interference RS485 cable when connecting the camera, the maximum
transmission distance may be shortened.
Standard rule for RS485 transmission distance:
When using 20AWG(Belden 8760) Shielded Twisted Pair Cable, different control Baud Rates will
have different transmission distance performance:
