To Exit ESP ‘Off’ Mode
A momentary press of either the
SPORT or
RACE switch will return the vehicle to that
mode selected.
Note: The vehicle will revert back to TOUR
Mode when the ignition is turned off.
Engine Protection Valve Override Switch
The engine protection valve within the ex-
haust system may be returned to the closed
position whilst the vehicle is in SPORT,
RACE or ESP ‘Off’ mode by a momentary
press of the switch.
This may be required if driving on a noise
restricted track. Alternatively if pressed
whilst in Tour mode the engine protection
valve will open regardless of the vehicle
engine speed.
Note: Even if overridden, the engine pro-
tection valve will automatically open if the
engine speed exceeds 5,500rpm to reduce
excessive exhaust back pressure. The valve
will return to the closed position when the
ignition is switched off.
Engine Protection Valve
The exhaust silencer fitted to the Evora
400 utilizes an active valve designed to
automatically reduce the exhaust gas back
pressures that are generated at higher
engine speeds (RPM), which, under ex-
treme circumstances can result in engine
damage.
By opening a by-pass valve within the
rear silencer at engine speeds in excess
of 5,500rpm, the normal flow route of the
exhaust gasses are changed so that they
now pass through an unrestricted section
of the silencer system before exiting the
tailpipes, resulting in a reduction of back
pressure so allowing the engine to safely
generate full power.
