Special information regarding volume-controlled modes
Volume-controlled modes:
• VCV
•
PLV
• VC-SIMV
• Optional VCV
•
Flexible VCV
For the volume-controlled modes listed above, the Workbench either shows the
parameter Tplateau or the parameter I-Flow, depending on your choices in the
configuration.
When adapting certain parameters, the header of the Workbench will display the
resulting Tplateau or I-Flow value as well as the T Flow value, which is the result-
ing duration of the inspiration phase.

If Tplateau is too short for the system to reliably determine the value (< 0.1 s),
the Instant View window will not show any plateau measurement. The reading will
be presented as “-”.
Remark
In volume-controlled modes, the pneumatic drug nebulization is
not available for the patient category “Children”.
