Verify that the replacement fan assembly is oriented properly for installation. When
holding the fan assembly handles, make sure that the power connector is located to the left
of center so that two fans are located to the right of the power connector, and only one fan
is to the left.

Slide the fan assembly straight into the chassis. When the latches on both sides of the
assembly are in contact with the latches in the chassis, push evenly and firmly to seat the
fan assembly.

Reinstall the front cover of the unit by aligning the four mounting pins, moulded into the
corners of the cover, with the mounting holes in the chassis and pressing it into place as
shown in Figure 3-22.

Air filter replacement
The air filter mounts on the front of the fan assembly, and can be replaced while the APX 1000
is in service without affecting the operation of the unit. The air filter should be checked every
six months and replaced, if needed.
To replace the air filter of an APX 1000, use the following procedure:
