Installation for the DDM-2000 OC-12
Multiplexer
Overview
This section provides the information for front access installation and covers the
installation information for the shelf, heat baffles, fans, front access cables, and
grounding.
This installation manual contains the latest cable information at the time of issue. for
up-to-date information refer to the ED cable drawings listed in the “About This
Document” section. for miscellaneous equipment information, refer to “Miscellaneous
Equipment” in the “Introduction” section.
Description
This section should be performed for front access installations. for rear access
installations, refer to the “Equipment and Rear Access Installation for the DDM-2000
OC-12 Multiplexer” section of this manual. for DDM-2000 OC-12 Regenerator
installation refer to the “Equipment and front Access Cable Installation for the
DDM-2000 OC-12 Regenerator. Observe the following notes:
This section requires previous bay frame installation and grounding.
The shelf is grounded by its mounting screws.
This section is best performed if each procedure like “Equipment Installation” is
performed on every shelf in the bay before proceeding to the next procedure.
Circuit packs must not be installed at this point.
The locations of all backplane plugs and jacks are shown in Figure 3-1 on page
3-46.
The cabling for the maximum capacity of three DDM-2000 OC-12 front-access
shelves in a bay is shown in Figure 3-2 on page 3-47.
