TL1/X.25 Interface Cabling - Front Access
Description
The TL1/X.25 interface is a message-based telemetry system. It is an alternative to
TBOS or parallel telemetry. The TL1/X.25 telemetry interfaces with a maintenance
center to provide DDM-2000 OC-12 system status information and remote command
capability.
NOTE:
TBOS is not available in OC-12, Release 7.
NOTE:
Parallel telemetry is not available in OC-12, Release 7.
NOTE:
TL1/X.25 Interface telemetry is not available with DDM-2000 OC-12 Release 7.0.
Procedure
NOTE:
The TL1/X.25 interface telemetry requires that each shelf in the bay be cabled
directly to the telemetry system.
(1) The TL1 interface cable installation procedure for front access and rear access
is performed in the same manner, with the exception that the Group 165, 186 or
186 (D.A.) TL1 interface cable P261 connects to J261 of the (Group 214) front
access cable instead of the OC-12 backplane. Refer to the “TL1/X.25 Interface
Cabling - Rear Access” in the “Equipment and Rear Access Installation” section.
(2) Route the cables out of the bay, stacking cables as shown in Figure 3-2 on page
3-47.
(3) Cut the TL1 cables to the desired length at the TL1 equipment.
(4) Wire-wrap the loose end of the TL1 cables to the TL1 equipment, making con-
nections as shown in Table 3-11 on page 3-41.
