Equipment and Front Access Cable Installation for the DDM-2000 OC-12 Multiplexer

(2) Route the timing cable out of the DDM-2000 OC-12 bay to the same DS1 timing
reference that is connected to the bottom shelf, stacking the cables as shown in
Figure 3-3 on page 3-48 or Figure 3-4 on page 3-49.
(3) Dress and tie the cables in the bay as close to the DDM-2000 OC-12 backplane
as possible without touching any backplane pins.
(4) Cut the cable to the desired length and wire-wrap the loose end of the DS1 tim-
ing cable to the output of the DS1 reference clock making connections as shown
in Table 3-14 on page 3-44.
(5) Connect J266 of the Group 210 or 211 front access timing cable of this shelf to
P266 of the Group 212 or 213 front access timing cable P266 of the DDM-2000
OC-12 shelf directly above it per Figure 3-21 on page 3-66.
(6) Dress and tie the cables in the bay as close to the backplane as possible with-
out touching any backplane.
OC-3/OC-12 Bay Intershelf DS1 Timing Cabling
(1) Obtain an ED-8C724-20, Group 339, 340, 530, 531, or 341 (D.A.) DS1 timing
cable and connect it to J237 of the front access timing cable of the bottom DDM-
2000 OC-3 shelf in the bay per Figure 3-22 on page 3-67.
(2) Route the timing cable out of the bay to the same DS1 timing reference that is
connected to the DDM-2000 OC-12 shelf, stacking the cables as shown in Fig-
ure 3-3 on page 3-48 or Figure 3-4 on page 3-49.
(3) Dress and tie the cables in the bay as close to the DDM-2000 OC-3 backplane
as possible without touching any backplane pins.
(4) Cut the cable to the desired length and wire-wrap the loose end of the DS1 tim-
ing cable to the output of the DS1 reference clock making connections as shown
in Table 3-14 on page 3-44.
(5) Connect P237 of the Group 415 front access timing cable of this shelf to J237 of
the Group 414 of the DDM-2000 OC-3 shelf directly above it.
(6) Repeat the previous step for any additional DDM-2000 OC-3 shelves in the bay.
(7) Dress and tie the cables as close to the backplane as possible without touching
any backplane pins.
