Stand-Alone (Local) Installation Tests for the DDM-2000 OC-12 Multiplexer

(5) If the shelf is not fully loaded (that is, a 3DS3 or 3STS1E in each FN slot), after
testing the equipped FN slots, move the existing circuit packs to the unequipped
slots until all FN slots have been tested.
(6) Return any circuit packs moved in this procedure to their original slots.
21G3-U or 21D-U OLIU Protection Switch
NOTE:
Skip this test for Release 3.1 or Releases 5 or 7 unless you provision the applica-
tion value for 1+1 as shown below for this procedure. The 1+1 application value
is used for OC-3 linear extensions.
NOTE:
This test cannot be applied when the application value is 0x1 because both
OLIUs of an FN pair are simultaneously active.
(1) Perform this test for FN positions equipped with OLIU circuit packs.
(2) In order to perform this test, change the application value from 0x1 to 1+1 as fol-
lows:
Release 5.0:
set-oc3:fn-{a, b, c, or d},dgr=,kbyte=,app=1+1, aisalm=;
Release 5.1 and higher:
set-oc3:fn-{a, b, c, or d},dgr=,syncmsg=,app=1+1,
aisalm=;
(3) Note which FN OLIU of the pair to be tested has it’s ACTIVE LED lit and issue
the command
switch-line
(SWITCH LINE).

(4) Verify that the ACTIVE LED, previously noted to be lit, extinguishes and the
ACTIVE LED on the other FN OLIU of the pair lights. There should be no lighted
alarms on the user panel.
(5) If the shelf is not fully loaded (that is 3DS3, 3STS1E, or OLIU circuit pack in
each FN slot) after testing the equipped FN slots, move the existing OLIU circuit
packs to the unequipped slots until all FN slots have been tested.
(6) Return any OLIU circuit packs moved in this procedure to their original slots.
