Modem Connection Test
Description
This test will verify the proper login procedure using a CIT terminal connected through a
pair of modems.
Perform this test only if specified in the order and if the customer has provided two
modems and two working phone lines.
NOTE:
The modem interface port (J60) does not require the use of a null modem.
NOTE:
The use of a terminal through a modem is the same as connecting a terminal to
the EIA-232D port on the user panel.

Procedure
Connecting to the DDM-2000 OC-12 through a modem requires the following:
Two modems
Two phone lines
DDM-2000 OC-12 modem cable
An ASCII terminal.
(1) At the DDM-2000 OC-12 location perform the following:
a. Verify that one end of the modem cable is properly connected to the
DDM-2000 OC-12 modem interface port (backplane connector J60).
b. Connect the other end of the modem cable to a modem.
c. Verify the modem is set up properly and that the data rate of the modem
and the DDM-2000 OC-12 rear access port agree.
d. Connect a working telephone line to the modem.
