Miscellaneous Discrete Telemetry Test
Description
This test will verify proper operation and wiring of the miscellaneous telemetry.
NOTE:
This procedure requires personnel at both ends [central office (CO) and remote
terminal (RT)] of the DDM-2000 OC-12 system.
Remote Terminal Towards the Central Office Telemetry
Test
(1) At the Remote Terminal (RT), provide a closure between miscellaneous input #1
and input common. (This is usually the open door alarm.)
(2) At the Central Office (CO), verify that a closure is observed between miscella-
neous output #1 and output common.
(3) At the RT, remove the closure between miscellaneous input #1 and input com-
mon.
(4) At the CO, verify that removal of the closure is observed.
(5) Repeat for each miscellaneous input cabled (#2 to #14 for Release 3 or #2 to
#20 for Release 5).
(6) At the RT, turn off the AC power.
(7) At the RT, verify PMN LED lights on the user panel.
(8) At the CO, verify the MN and FE ACTY LEDs are lighted.
(9) At the CO, establish communication with the RT using the
rlgn-tid
com-
mand.
(10)Perform a
rtrv-alm
command and verify that the “power minor” alarm appears
in the alarm and status report
.
(11)At the CO, depress the FE SEL push-button to select the RT. Verify that the
PMN LED lights on the user panel.
NOTE:
After 15 seconds the user panel will revert to CO indications.
(12)At the RT, turn on the AC power.
(13)At the CO, verify the MN and FE ACTY LEDs extinguish.
