DS3 Cabling - Front Access
Description
This procedure describes how to connect the DS3 cables to the front access cables and
route the cables out of the bay to the DS3 terminating equipment.
NOTE:
The DS3 cables used are dependent on the equipment that the DDM-2000
OC-12 will connect to (DACS V 2000, DACS III 2000, DSX-3, or FT-2000 OC-48),
the cable length, and the number of center conductors required.
NOTE:
Refer to Tables 3-2, 3-3, and 3-4 on pages 3-32 though 3-36 and ED8C900-20 to
determine the appropriate DS3 interface cables to be used.
NOTE:
DS3 interface cables per Table 3-1 on page 3-32 have been rated Discontinued
Available (D. A.) which means they can no lo be ordered.
NOTE:
A 1735006A six conductor cable provides three DS3 IN and three DS3 OUT
cables to accommodate one full muldem on the DDM-2000 OC-12 shelf. 734A,
735A, and KS-19224, L2 cables provide one DS3 IN cable and one DS3 OUT
cable to accommodate a partially equipped muldem.
!
CAUTION:
New cable groups come assembled with a connector on each end. Cutting the
cable to a shorter length and installing a new connector on the cable may result in
cable quality substandard to that in the factory and subsequent service outages
may occur. If a new connector must be installed, use the correct connector and
proper crimp tool.
