See Notice on first page
(6) Wire-wrap the loose end of the miscellaneous discrete telemetry cable to the
wire-wrap panel making connections as shown in Table 3-12 on page 3-42 and
Table 3-13 on page 3-43 and Figures 3-15, 3-16 and 3-17 on pages 3-60
through 3-62.
NOTE:
Each miscellaneous discrete telemetry designation is connected to the
DDM-2000 OC-12 by two leads (wires).
NOTE:
for each input, connect one lead to input-common and the other lead to the
appropriate alarm indication.
NOTE:
for each output, connect one lead to output-common and the other lead to the
appropriate alarm indication.
(7) Clearly label the use of each discrete input/output on the panel.
(8) Dress and secure all cables in the bay.
DS1 Timing Cabling - Front Access
Description
The following procedure is required for cabling to a DS1 external timing source for
synchronous operation.
NOTE:
for shelves equipped with BBF2B/BBF4 timing circuit packs that are provisioned
for deriving sync input timing from the incoming OC-12 optical line, skip this pro-
cedure and continue with “DS1 Timing Cable Installation for Sync Input - Front
Access”.
There are two options for cabling DS1 timing:
Cable directly to the DS1 timing equipment
Cable to another shelf.
Unless otherwise specified, shelf 1 (bottom shelf) should be cabled directly to the DS1
timing equipment. To do this perform “Procedure for Shelf 1".
All the other shelves in the same bay should be part of a daisy chain connecting to shelf
1. for shelves, other than shelf 1, perform “Procedure for Other Shelves”.
