OC-3/OC-12 Bay Intershelf DS1 Timing Cabling

(1) for a DDM-2000 OC-3/OC-12 combined bay application where the DDM-2000

OC-3 shelf (or shelves) DS1 timing is to be multed to the DDM-2000 OC-12
shelf, connect the ED-8C727-21, Group 210 or 212 DS1 timing mult cable P237
of the DDM-2000 OC-12 shelf to the ED-8C724-21, Group 414 DS1 timing
cable J237 of the DDM-2000 OC-3 shelf mounted directly above the DDM-2000
OC-12 shelf per Figure 3-19 on page 3-64.

NOTE:

Multing between additional DDM-2000 OC-3 shelves in the bay is covered in
363-206-204,

(2) Dress and secure all cables in the bay.

DS1 Timing Cabling for Sync Input - Front
Access

Description

Perform the following procedure for shelves equipped with BBF2B timing circuit packs.
These circuit packs are provisioned for deriving sync input timing from the incoming
OC-12 optical line.

NOTE:

DS1 timing cable options are listed in Table 3-5 on page 3-37. DS1 timing con-
nections are listed in Table 3-14 on page 3-44.

Timing Source for Sync Input Connections

NOTE:

The cabling from the DS1 reference clock timing source should connect to the
bottom shelf in the bay. Other DDM-2000 OC-12 shelves in the bay are
daisy-chained up from the bottom shelf.
