Powering, Verification, and Circuit Pack Installation for the DDM-2000 OC-12 Multiplexer

(2) For Releases 2 and 3, switch S2 must be set as “Network Side” or “User Side”

with the network elements on each end of an optical span set for opposite val-
ues. Set S2 as shown in Figure 5-5 on page 5-23.

NOTE:

Switch S3 is not used at this time, and Switch S2 is not used in Release 1,
however, these switches should be set as shown in Figure 5-5 on page 5-
23.

(3) Place, but do not fully install, the BCP1 in the shelf.

BCP4 OHCTL Pack

The BCP4 OHCTL is required for OC-12 Release 5 and 7.

(1) The BCP4 OHCTL circuit pack has no option switches.

(2) Place, but do not fully install, the OHCTL circuit pack into the shelf.

Transmission and Timing Circuit Pack Provisioning

BCP3 TSI Circuit Pack

The BCP3 TSI circuit pack has no customer set options.

Place, but do not fully install, the BCP3 TSI circuit packs into the shelf.

BBG11/BBG11B 3DS3 Circuit Pack

The BBG11/BBG11B 3DS3 circuit pack has two option jumpers for line build out (LBO)
of each DS3 signal path, a total of six jumpers. The BBG11B is required in Release 5
and 7 to support enhanced DS3 performance monitoring.

The order of the DS3 signals are 1 to 3, from top to bottom of the circuit pack.

(1) Set the 3DS3 circuit pack option jumpers per customer engineering records or

requirements as shown in Figure 5-7 on page 5-26.

(2) Place, but do not fully install, the 3DS3 circuit packs into the shelf.

BBG12 3STS1E Circuit Pack

The BBG12 3STS1E circuit pack has two option jumpers for line build out (LBO) of each
STS1E signal path, a total of six jumpers.

The order of the STS1E signals are 1 to 3, from front to back of the circuit pack.

(1) Set the 3STS1E circuit pack option jumpers per customer engineering records

or requirements as shown in Figure 5-6 on page 5-25.

(2) Place, but do not fully install, the 3STS1E circuit packs into the shelf.
