(5) Upon completion of entering the various pass-through and terminating cross-
connects, enter the
rtrv-crs-sts1:all;
command to verify each cross-
connect has been entered correctly.
End-To-End Transmission Tests
Description
This test verifies proper operation of the DS3/EC-1 transmission path between nodes.
NOTE:
If a valid DS3 signal is applied to the DDM-2000 OC-12 and then removed, the
FAULT LED on the 3DS3 circuit pack will flash. Press the UPD push-button on
the SYSCTL to stop any flashing LEDs.
DS3/EC-1 Transmission Tests
NOTE:
Perform this procedure for each DS3/EC-1 circuit to be put into service.
NOTE:
3STS1E circuit packs do not have
test-trmsn-t
3
capability. If one terminating
node of an STS-1 channel is equipped with an 3STS1E circuit pack to provide
EC-1 service and the other terminating node is equipped with a 3DS3 circuit
pack, this test must be performed from the DS3 terminating node.
NOTE:
If both terminating nodes of an STS-1 channel are equipped with 3STS1E circuit
packs, the EC-1 cabling can be tested by replacing a 3STS1E circuit pack at one
node with a 3DS3 circuit pack for the duration of this test.
NOTE:
To replace a BBG12 circuit pack pair with a BBG11B pair or vice versa, it is not
necessary to delete cross connects. Remove one circuit pack, press the UPD/
INIT push-button, remove the second circuit pack of the pair, insert the new cir-
cuit pack pair, then press the UPD/INIT push-button.
(1) At one terminating node of a DS3/EC-1 circuit in the ring, change the DS3 viola-
tion monitoring mode from violation, monitor, and removal (VMR) to clear chan-
nel (CC) by entering the following command:
set-t3:all:md=cc;ais=no;
