Planning
The DDM-2000 OC-12 may be mounted as follows:
a.
Mounted in network bay frame. The recommended network bay frames
for rear access are ED-8C500-50 and ED-8C501-50 or Seismic bay
frames ED-8C800-50 and EC-8C801-50. Refer to Figure 2-5 on page 2-
52, Figure 2-6 on page 2-53, and Figure 2-7 on page 2-54 for DDM-2000
OC-12 shelf placement in a network bay frame.

Miscellaneously mounted, which meets requirements in “Equipment
Installation Considerations”.

The DDM-2000 OC-12 shelf/shelves may also be factory installed in the
ED-8C906-30 OC3/OC12 bay. Refer to Section 5 of this manual for install-
ing instructions if required.
Equipment Installation Considerations
Detailed network bay frame installation information is contained in ED-8C727-10,
“Typical Bay Arrangements”. The information in this paragraph is of a general
nature.
The equipment listed below has the following height dimensions:
Each DDM-2000 OC-12 shelf installed must have an air gap of at least 3.0 inches
between the bottom of the DDM-2000 OC-12 shelf and the equipment (or bay
frame if the shelf is installed at the bottom of the bay).
A fan shelf and heat baffle are required above each DDM-2000 OC-12 shelf.
NOTE:
DDM-2000 OC-12 heat baffles must be used where required. There is no
equivalent air gap.
The fan shelf mounts directly above the DDM-2000 OC-12 shelf, and the heat
baffle mounts directly above the fan shelf.
