Intershelf Mult Cabling - Rear Access
Description
The cabling added in the following procedure mults the CIT and TBOS telemetry and
modem, when provided, between shelf 1 (the bottom shelf) and shelf 2 and shelves 2
and 3.
NOTE:
TBOS is not available in OC-12, Release 7.
OC-12 Intershelf TBOS, CIT, and Modem Cabling
(1) Obtain a Group 169, 187 or 170 (D.A.) CIT, modem with TBOS cable listed in
Table 2-4 on page 2-37.
(2) Connect the cable to connector J72 of the shelf.
(3) Route the cable to the side of the bay and down to connector J73 of the shelf
below as shown in Figure 2-1 on page 2-48.
(4) Dress and tie the cables in the bay as close to the backplane as possible with-
out touching any backplane pins.
(5) Repeat this procedure for each shelf in the bay that is to have TBOS multed.
OC-3/OC-12 Bay Intershelf TBOS, CIT, and Modem
Cabling
(1) For a DDM-2000 OC-3/OC-12 combined bay application where the DDM-2000
OC-3 shelf (or shelves) TBOS, CIT, and modem are to be multed to the
DDM-2000 OC-12 shelf, obtain an ED-8C724-20, Group 389 TBOS, CIT, and
modem cable listed in Table 2-4 on page 2-37 and connect it to J73 of the
DDM-2000 OC-12 shelf.
(2) Route the TBOS, CIT, and modem cable to the side of the bay and connect it to
J58 of the DDM-2000 OC-3 shelf directly above the DDM-2000 OC-12 shelf as
shown in Figure 2-16 on page 2-63.
NOTE:
Multing between additional DDM-2000 OC-3 shelves in the bay is covered in

(3) Dress and tie the cables as close to the backplane as possible without touching
any backplane pins.
