Equipment and Rear Access Cabling for the DDM-2000 OC-12 Multiplexer

Order Wire Interface Connections — Rear
Access

Description

The order wire interface provides access for optional connection to an external order
wire system, allowing point-to-point voice communication between adjacent nodes in a
DDM-2000 OC-12 system.

Procedure

(1) Obtain a Group 167 or ED8C724-22, Group 31 order wire cable listed in Table

2-4 on page 2-37.

(2) Connect the cable to connector J20 on the rear of the shelf.

(3) Route the cable to the order wire interface.

(4) Stack the cable in the bay cable channel as shown in Figure 2-2 on page 2-49 or

Figure 2-3 on page 2-50.

(5) Dress and tie the cables in the bay as close to the DDM-2000 OC-12 backplane

as possible without touching any backplane pins.

(6) Wire-wrap the unterminated end of the cable assembly to the order wire inter-

face. Refer to Table 2-15 on page 2-46.
