Immediate Call Handling
A feature that allows the Automated Attendant to
answer every outside call (after the second ring) by
playing the Automated Attendant Day or Night Greeting.
Implementor
The person who performs the installation and the initial
programming of the PARTNER MAIL system.
Industry-standard device
A telephone or other telecommunications device that
can be connected directly to the public telephone
network. See also Standard phone.
Intercom call
A call that is made to another system extension with an
Intercom button on an MLS- or MLC-model telephone
using extension numbers.

Line jack
The location on 206 and 400 modules that allows you
to connect outside lines to the control unit.
Line Ownership
A feature that lets a subscriber's extension (mailbox) be
assigned as the owner of the covered line. When a call
comes in on the covered line, the system routes the
caller to the mailbox specified as the line’s owner if the
call is not answered.
Mailbox
A storage area for messages associated with a
PARTNER MAIL system subscriber.
MLS-and MLC-Model telephones
The AT&T telephones that are specifically designed for
use with the PARTNER system. Models include the
MLS-34D, MLS-12D, MLS-6, and MLC-6 phones.

Night Service
A feature that lets you redirect calls received after
hours or when a receptionist is not available to answer
calls. (This feature also activates night service
operations of PARTNER MAIL.)

Outcalling
A feature that enables the PARTNER MAIL system to
call a subscriber at a telephone, or who carries a
beeper, when a new message is deposited in his or her
mailbox.
