NOTE:
This procedure allows equipping and testing of digroups AB
and CD during initial installation of the blue or white RT
system. Procedures for adding digroups CD to an in-service
RT are found in NTP-004. During initial installation, at least
digroups AB of the blue (lower) system must be equipped
and tested. After the blue system is equipped, the white
(upper) system can be equipped and tested.
Get support apparatus listed:
• 216-type tool (80-type cabinet only),
• Special key (allen-type wrench) - COMCODE 846244168
(51-type and 80-type cabinet only),
• Digital Multimeter (DMM) with an accuracy of 1.0% and an
ac/dc input impedance of
≥
1 megohm.

CAUTION:
An electrostatic discharge wrist strap with a minimum
resistance of 250K Ohms should be worn when handling
Series 5 circuit packs to prevent possible damage to the
circuit packs. Before using the wrist strap, check it for
opens, shorts, and minimum resistance value. If the strap
does not pass these checks it should not be used. To avoid
possible personal injury while using the wrist strap, do not
connect it to the power shelf or adjacent portions of the RT
frame. Connect the wrist strap to ESD GRD jack on the fan
unit, if present. If grounding jack is not present, connect
wrist strap to bare-metal section of the frame well away from
the power shelf.
