NOTE:
All LIUs in the same system should have identical option
switch settings.
NOTE:
FPB Mode 2 does not require an LIU in LIU-D slot. FPD
requires a TCU in LIU-D slot.
Install DS1 LIU in LIU-D slot in facility shelf after making option,
equalizer, and transmit pad settings for FPA, FPB mode 1, FPC,
FPC-AutoCut, or FPF.
23. If protection switching is desired, install associated LSU (line
switch unit) in facility shelf. Otherwise, proceed to Step 25.

Install associated DS1 protection LIU (if required) in LIU-P slot in
facility shelf after making option, equalizer, and transmit pad set-
tings.

NOTE:
The CTU is used with the pair gain test controller (PGTC) or
extended test controller (XTC) to enable remote testing of
channel units and subscriber lines beyond the remote
terminal. The AUB25 is compatible with the MC97756A1 or
MC97771A1 BCU and provides special service test
capability if the XTC is used. The AUB22 is compatible with
any feature package."except FPD.
Install CTU (channel test unit) (if the XTC or PGTC is used for
remote testing and CTU has not been previously installed).
26. Install DTU (digital test unit) (if required).
27. Perform RT indicator test.
28. If equipping additional shelves in dual bank assembly (white sys-
tem), proceed to Step 4. Otherwise, continue with Step 29.
