Issue 7, March 1997

Install Channel Test Unit (CTU)

Get one AUB22 (PGTC) or AUB25 (PGTC with compatible version BCU or
XTC) CTU and inspect for possible damage.

Reference:

DLP-500

Insert CTU into CTU slot in blue (lower) channel bank while observing indica-
tors on CTU faceplate.

Response:

CTU FAIL indicator is lighted and BUSY indicator flashes.

Does FAIL indicator on CTU go off and remain off?

If YES, then proceed to Step 9.
If NO, then continue with Step 4.

Replace CTU.

While observing FAIL indicator on CTU faceplate, insert CTU into CTU slot in
blue (lower) channel bank shelf.

Response:

CTU FAIL indicator lights momentarily.

Does FAIL indicator on CTU go off and remain off?

If YES, then proceed to Step 9.
If NO, then continue with Step 7.

Replace CTU with CTU removed previously while observing FAIL indicator
on CTU faceplate.

Check wiring using SD-7C117-01 or SD-7C117-02. Repeat procedure from
Step 3 after locating and correcting trouble.

Did FAIL indicator on CTU light momentarily?

If YES, then STOP. YOU HAVE COMPLETED THIS PROCEDURE.
If NO, then continue with Step 10.

10. Replace CTU while observing FAIL indicator on CTU faceplate.
