admin> read al-dmt { 1 3 4 }
AL-DMT/{ shelf-1 slot-3 4 } read
admin> set line-config vp-switching-vpi = 7

Configuring selective frequency bin loading
Selective frequency bin loading allows you to mask certain frequencies that can cause
interference on an ADSL line. The ADSL LIM can withstand interference that is constant, but
interference that is not constant, such as an AM radio station that transmits for 12 hours each
day, can cause problems. For example, if the ADSL line retrains while the radio station is off
the air, the line might experience interference when the station resumes transmitting. Selective
bin loading enables you to mask the interfering frequency by disabling the Stinger frequency
bin that corresponds to it. You can also use selective bin loading to mask intermittent noise
from other sources in a particular bundle from the central office. Once you identify the
interfering frequency, you can disable the necessary bins.
Following are examples of the relevant parameters, shown with default settings:

Parameter
Description
name

bits-per-bin
Number of bits per bin. Specify a number from 0 through 15. Leave
this parameter at its default setting of 14, unless you encounter the
following situations:
•
You need to restrict the line rate, but at the same time retain a
uniform distribution of bits per bin across all the bins.
•
You need to lower the bits per bin to enable the Stinger unit to
interoperate with CPEs that do not allow 14 bits per bin.
bin-loading
Enables or disables specified bins. Specify
no
to disable a bin
frequency.
