To connect the WaveLAN/EC-S device to a computer terminal or
printer, proceed as follows:
1.
Verify that you have all items required to install the WaveLAN/
EC-S device:
■
WaveLAN/EC-S device and its DC power supply
■
Ethernet cable (not included) and/or serial cable as
provided in the kit.
■
WaveLAN IEEE 802.11 PC Card (inserted into the
WaveLAN/EC-S device as described on page 2-5).
2.
Attach the Ethernet cable or the serial cable to the WaveLAN/
EC-S device.
3.
Next, attach the opposite end of the cable to the corresponding
port of the computer terminal.
When you wish to connect both a computer terminal and a
wireless peripheral device to the WaveLAN/EC-S (as
described on page 1-14), you will typically:
■
Use the Ethernet cable to connect the WaveLAN/EC-S
device to the computer terminal.
■
Use the serial cable to connect the WaveLAN/EC-S device
to the computer peripheral device, such as a printer.
4.
Insert the connector of the power cord into the WaveLAN/EC-S
power jack and plug the power supply into an AC outlet.

WARNING:
Use only the power supply provided with your WaveLAN/
EC
-S
device. Connecting the device to another power
supply, may cause damage to your equipment and will
void the warranty.
