Configuring WaveLAN/EC-S
Introduction
3
The WaveLAN/EC-S has been designed to instantly connect your
client device to “ANY” WaveLAN IEEE Infrastructure within the
vicinity of the WaveLAN/EC-S device. network. However, there
may be situations in which you may wish to change the factory-set
default configuration to:
■
Assign a unique “station name” to the WaveLAN/EC-S device
(default is “Ethernet Converter”).
■
Assign a unique WaveLAN Network Name to the network, and
loading this name into WaveLAN/EC-S device.
Changing the default value “ANY” to a unique WaveLAN
Network Name will avoid that your WaveLAN/EC-S device(s)
might unintentionally connect to a neighboring network.
■
Assign a unique IP address to the WaveLAN/EC-S device.
■
Update the embedded software of the WaveLAN/EC-S device.
This chapter describes how to use the WaveMANAGER/EC
program to configure:
■
A WaveLAN/EC-S device directly connected to your computer
via the Ethernet 10Base-T interface.
■
Any remote WaveLAN/EC-S device connected to a terminal
located on the same LAN segment.
