Configuring WaveLAN/EC-S
Set the EC-S Specific Parameters
3-20
WaveLAN/EC-S User’s Guide
Load a configuration from file
3
You can use the “Load Config” option to import a previously saved
configuration file (
*.cnf
) from diskette or hard disk drive, for
example to:
■
Restore the original configuration when recovering from a
system crash, or replacing a device.
■
Import a template file containing the “common” parameters
that should be the same for all WaveLAN/EC-S devices in your
network.
This might be a convenient way to replicate the standard
configuration when preparing large-volume roll-out
installations.
NOTE:
When importing a template file, make sure to change the
unique identifiers for the WaveLAN/EC-S device to avoid
management errors. These unique identifiers are:
■
“Station Name” described on page 3-7, and
■
The unique “IP Address” value described on page
3-18.
Update the Embedded Software
3
It is policy of Lucent Technologies to improve products as new
technology, software and hardware become available.
To enhance (wireless) performance of your WaveLAN/EC-S device
and WaveLAN/IEEE cards, future
updates
will be made available
via the WaveLAN website. Examples of such
updates
that will be
released soon are:
■
WaveLAN/EC-S support for WaveLAN IEEE Turbo cards, or
■
WEP encryption for Silver Label cards.
