Now change the following parameter settings to match the
following values:
■
Connect using a COM port (instead of modem)
■
Bits per second (Baud Rate) “9600”
■
Data Bits
“8”
■
Parity “None”
■
Stop bit
“1”

Follow the instructions of the terminal emulation program, to:
■
Close its “properties” window and return to the main menu.
■
Connect to the selected COM port.

Next, use a paper clip or other thin metal object to press the
“Reset/Config” button as pictured in Figure 4-1 on page 4-8.

CAUTION:
Press the Reset/Config button only briefly. Keeping this
button pressed for more than 5 seconds, will reset the
configuration of your WaveLAN/EC-S device to its factory-
set default configuration.
This procedure will launch the built-in configuration program of
your WaveLAN/EC-S device.
■
If the display of your terminal emulation program displays the
menu as pictured in Figure 4-2 on page 4-10, turn to “Running
the Built-in Configurator” on page 4-10 for further instructions.
■
If this menu does not appear:
1.
Check if all cables have been connected properly (remind
that this procedure does not work with a 10Base-T cable).
2.
Check the LED status of the WaveLAN/EC-S device to
verify that it is powered on and properly connected.
3.
Verify that the parameters listed in step 5 are set correctly,
and/or select another COM port for serial communication.
