WaveLAN/EC-S User’s Guide
When the communications quality improves again, both WaveLAN
cards will gradually increase the data rate again, until they have
reached the highest available Transmit Rate as supported by both
cards.
Alternatively, you may wish to balance speed versus reliability, by
either:
■
Limiting the range of the Auto Transmit Rate, or
■
Fixing” the Transmit Rate to a single speed.
You are advised to do so only in special circumstances, typically
upon advice of a WaveLAN IEEE expert or WaveLAN Technical
Support representative.
To select a Transmit Rate option, use one of the values listed
below:
NOTE:
When the WaveLAN PC card inserted into the WaveLAN/
EC-S device does
not
support the selected Transmit Rate,
the card will automatically use the highest Transmit Rate
available.
For example, Standard WaveLAN IEEE PC Cards that do
not support the Turbo speeds, will interpret the settings
“Medium” or “High” as “Standard Transmit Rate”.
