Function
Fishfinder is the most simple fishfinder on the market. Most recreational anglers
only need to switch on the unit and start fishing. The unit automatically measures
the depth and adjusts to keep the bottom and any fish visible on the display. The
unit sends out audio waves from the sensor in the water and the reflected audio
waves are converted to an image on the display, which gives explicit information
on what is under the water, including distance to objects under the surface, such
as the bottom, fish and structures. The connected sensor uses a 200 kHz sonar
with a 45° coverage angle.
The system can be used in shallow to very deep water, both in salt water and
fresh water.
The speed of the boat, waves, hardness of the bottom, weather conditions and
installation of the sensor can influence the depth capacity.
Display
The unit shows in a simple and clear way what is under the surface of the water. The top of the display
corresponds to the surface of the water at the sensor and the bottom of the display corresponds to the
depth range, which is set automatically for the actual depth of water. The bottom contour varies with the
depth of water under the boat. Exact information on depth, fish and water temperature is shown digitally.
Variations in the bottom terrain and composition are shown when the boat is moving. Fish and
thermoclines (temperature gradients under the water) are shown when they are detected.
