4. OPERATION OF THE UNIT
4.1 Fill oil
Remove filler cover, open oil filler cap and fill oil up to the max. marking (Figure D).
4.2 Inserting the battery
Push the battery straight into the battery slot until it locks in place (Figure A).
4.3 Removing the battery
Release the lock and remove the battery (Figure B).
4.4 Querying the battery status
Press the query button on the battery (Figure C).
4.5 Switching on and off
Press the main switch to switch the device on an off (Figure I; No. 1). The device is
ready to operate when the main switch and workspace are illuminated.
After switching on, the pump runs for a short time at full speed; if no device is con-
nected or if the device is not activated, the pump goes into ECO mode.
4.6 Coupling the devices
All LUKAS rescue devices can be operated with the Lukas compact unit. LUKAS
recommends a 10m hose for connecting the unit and the rescue devices. The max-
imum oil quantity that can be removed is 5 liters; note here also the technical data
of the connected rescue devices and the oil fill level in the display field (Figure D).
4.6.1 Connecting the monocoupling
Remove the dust protection caps from both halves of the coupling. Put the cou-
plings together. (Figure E). Push the blue ring of the coupling forwards and twist
the ring to the right until the coupling is closed (Figure F). After that, put the dust
protection caps together.
4.6.2 Uncoupling the monocoupling
Pull the dust protection caps apart. Push the blue ring of the coupling forwards and
twist the ring to the left (Figure F). Then put the dust protection caps back on both
halves of the coupling (Figure G).
4.7 Dismantling/shutting down after operation
When work is done, you should move all devices that you have operated with the
power unit back into the neutral position. Do not operate any other devices that are
connected to other units; this can overfill the tank. After use, check the fill level of
the hydraulic fluid (Figure D).
