– Hold the appliance firmly as shown.
Cold starting
– Set ignition switch (8) to
[1]

– Gently press fuel pump (12) often enough that no
more bubbles are visible (approx. 10 times).
– Move the choke lever (4) to
[ ]
.
– Pull the pull starter forcefully outwards until you
hear a first ignition sound.
– Move the choke lever (4) to
[ ]

– Forcefully pull the starter outwards until the
motor engages.
– Press switch-on lock (9) and gently activate the
throttle (11) at the same time.
Warm start
– Set ignition switch to
[1]

– Check that the choke lever is at
[ ]
.
– Forcefully pull the starter outwards until the
motor engages.
– Press start-up lock and gently activate the throt-
tle at the same time.
– If the motor does not engage after you pulled the
starter three times, repeat the starting procedure
as described under
Motor cold start
.
After starting the motor
– Leave the motor running at idling speed for a
while.
– Slowly press down on the throttle to increase the
motor speed.
The clutch will be released when the motor speed is
high enough, and the cutting equipment will start to
run.
– Check that the cutting equipment stops running
when you release the throttle.
Stopping the motor
– Release the throttle.
– Set ignition switch to
[0]
.
The motor will switch off.
Cutting hedges
– Press the locking button (7), and keep it pressed.
– Twist the rear handle into the desired position,
and let it engage.
– Switch the appliance on (
– Open the throttle, and trim smoothly with the
broad side of the cutting equipment. Do not
push the point into the hedge.
– Cut at full throttle.
Tips on hedge trimming
1.
Cut the hedge to the desired height.
2.
Trim the side of the hedge diagonally from bot-
tom to top.
3.
Round off the upper corners of the hedge.
4.
Cut back the hedge somewhat at ground level.

With the choke closed (choke lever

hear a first ignition sound. Otherwise, you
may run the risk of fuel leaking into the
combustion chamber, which would prevent
an ignition spark.

Take particular care close to fences!
If trimmings, fence wire or similar is caught
in the cutting equipment, switch the appli-
ance off immediately.
NOTICE! Risk of environmental dam-
age!
Do not use the hedge trimmer during
normal periods of quiet and rest.
Before cutting a hedge, check that there
are no birds nesting.
