Important Safety Instruction and Warnings
It is necessary to take special precautions as detailed below to avoid the introduction of fire or explosion
hazards when operating the MX1-IS device within a hazardous environment. Please read this page
carefully and make sure you fully understand these instructions.
DO NOT USE THIS UNIT IN CLASSIFIED AREAS UNSUITABLE FOR ITS SAFETY
RATINGS.

Warning
Keyword that indicates a potentially hazardous
situation which, if not avoided, could result in
death or serious injury.
Warning:
1.
The MX1-IS device is provided with a leather, impact-resistant case LXE part no.
MX1ISA406CASE
. Operation of the MX1-IS device in a hazardous location environment
with the leather case removed voids intrinsic safety approval and is prohibited. If the case is
damaged, replace it before using the MX1-IS again.
2.
To prevent static charge accumulation on the surface of the device, clean with a damp cloth
only. Wiping it with a dry cloth, or against clothing, may cause a buildup of static electricity.
Always use the leather case.
3.
Discontinue use if the MX1-IS device is damaged or altered. Use of damaged or altered
equipment will void the intrinsic safety of the MX1-IS computer.
4.
Substitution of components may impair intrinsic safety. Please return the MX1-IS device to
LXE for proper equipment repair or replacement. This device is not user or field-serviceable.
