Note: Hibernation mode is an optional mode that can be configured to use with the event
recorder. Hibernation mode may not be configured in all models. For event recorders that
have been configured with hibernation mode, the right status light should go out within a few
seconds after switching the vehicle ignition off. The shortest hibernation time is 15 minutes.
For event recorders that have NOT been configured with hibernation mode, the right status
light will remain lit at all times (even when the ignition is switched off and the key is removed).
As long as the right status light is lit when the vehicle ignition is switched on, the event
recorder is properly powered.
Other light patterns that are commonly seen:
Right light blinking red: Data transfer in progress.
Right light blinking red & green: Event recording in progress.
Both lights blinking red & green: Firmware upgrade in progress.
These patterns may continue for several minutes. All of them indicate the event recorder is
powered.
Errors: If the right light is not lit or if the left light is solid red or blinking red, an error has occurred
and must be corrected.

Brown Wire Connection (ignition-switched power)
Underneath the translucent cover surrounding the interior-facing lens are six small, infrared
lights. These are the event recorder’s IR Illuminators, providing infrared light for recording video in
low light situations. These lights can only be seen when they are lit, and they are only lit when
power is being sensed through the brown wire (i.e. when the engine is running or when the key is
turned all the way forward to the ON position).
Step 1: Turn the key to the Ignition/Switched-On position.
CAUTION: An improper connection could impact the
program and functionality (i.e.-fleet tracking, hibernation, etc.).
