17.14 FTP SERVER (TYPE C, D & E)

Unable to connect
to DL8 with FTP via
LAN.
Is the FTP server function of DL8
set to “Enable”?
Set the mode of the FTP server function to “Enable” with DL-
CFG. (Refer to Section 12.3.)
Are the address, login ID, and
password of DL8 correct?
Review the address for FTP. (Refer to Section 12.4.3.)
Review the login ID and the password set with DLCFG.
(Refer to Section 12.3.)
Is login to DL8 possible from FTP
client such as a PC?
Make sure that login to DL8 is possible using DOS commands
for example.
Unable to make
FTP connection
to DL8 via the
Internet.
Is DL8 connecting to the Internet? Make sure that the PC connects to the Internet.
(Refer to Section 17.6.)
Is the URL correct?
Check the fixed IP address or the dynamic DNS of the device
in the contracted WAN side. (Refer to the contract with the pro-
vider.) (Refer to Section 12.4.3.)
Is the port address (default: 21) of
the router used for the FTP in the
DL8 side open?
Set the port address (default: 21) manually in the NAT setting of
the router. (Refer to the instruction manual of the router.)
Doesn’t security software or a
firewall block the connection?
Disable the security software and the firewall, and try again.
Unable to maintain
DL8 files with FTP
client.
Is your FTP client software de-
scribed in the operation manual?
Use the FTP client of which the operation is confirmed.
(Refer to Section 12.2.)
FTPS connection
cannot be estab-
lished.
What is the type of DL8?
Only Type E supports FTPS.
Can an FTP client connect to the
DL8 with FTP via LAN?

Can an FTP client connect to the
DL8 with FTP via the Internet?
See "Unable to make FTP connection to DL8 via the Internet."
in this table.
What is the mode of FTPS?
FTPS is used in "Explicit mode" only.
Is the web server certificate
installed?
Create and transfer the certificate to DL8.
