6) Open the chuck jaws and remove the hex key.
20. TO RETIGHTEN A LOOSE CHUCK
The chuck may become loose on the spindle and
develop a wobble. Also, the chuck screw may
become loose, causing the chuck jaws to bind
and prevent them from closing.
To tighten a loose chuck or chuck screw:
1) Lock the trigger switch by placing the direction of
rotation selector in center position.
2) Open the chuck jaws.
3) Insert the hex key into the chuck and tighten
the chuck jaws securely. Tap the hex key
sharply with a mallet in a clockwise direction.
This will tighten the chuck on the spindle.
4) Open the chuck jaws and remove the hex key.
5) Using a screwdriver, tighten the chuck screw by
turning the chuck screw in a counterclockwise
direction.

21. USING THE AUXILIARY HANDLE
ASSEMBLE(only for No.DD1813)
An auxiliary handle assembly is packed with the
drill for ease of operation and to help prevent
loss of control. The handle can be rotated
360°and it can also be mounted on the opposite
side for left hand user.
1) Loosen the handle assembly by turning the
handle counterclockwise.
2) Rotate the handle assembly to the desired
operating position.
3) Securely tighten by turning the handle
assembly clockwise.
Be sure the handle assembly is securely
tightened against the clamp. This secures the
handle assembly.
22. DRILLING
1) Check the direction of rotation selector for
the correct setting (forward or reverse).
2) Secure the material to be drilled in a vise or
with clamps to keep it from turning as the drill
bit rotates.
3) Hold the drill firmly and place the bit at the
point to be drilled.
