The siphon pump and the water catch container should be held below the
bottom of the MAC155 Probe.

To complete the flushing operation, fill the tank with distilled water, and then

drain it again. Performing this procedure will flush out the tank. Upon completion

of the flushing procedure, refill the tank before operating the MAC155 Probe.

Make sure the fill plug is tight. If necessary the plug can be tightened by rotating

the lever clockwise before closing it.

START UP

Do not insert the MAC155 Probe into the instrumentation port of
operating equipment until the Probe is ready to be powered up.

Before applying power to the MAC155 Probe for the first time, check to make

sure that the ground wire is connected from the ground pin of the power

connector to a proper earth ground. Also, check that the AC voltage is correct

(120 VAC, 50/60 HZ or 240 VAC, 50/60 Hz), and is connected to the correct pins

of the power connector. Refer to the connection diagram.

When power is first applied to the MAC155 Probe, the LED’s on the power

supply board l 15 V and – 15 V should light up. If they do not, turn off

power and check the wiring.

It takes approximately 1 hour for the MAC155 Probe to warm up to operating

temperature. During the warm up period both the sampling pump and the

calibration pump should be running and the output signal should be at the

maximum value of 20mA. The Probe warm up condition will also be indicated on

the display of the MAC155 controller.

During the warm up period the barrel is heated by a heater element that is

inside the barrel assembly. The barrel is heated to prevent condensation of the

sample from occurring within the barrel. The calibration valve is also heated to
