S/PDIF Out Port/Microphone-In Jack
A microphone can be connected to your notebook via this jack. You
can use this port for S/PDIF (Sony/Philips Digital Interface Format)
output, and to record on your notebook computer with an external
microphone. The S/PDIF Out Port allows you to connect your DVD-
capable PC to a Dolby AC-3 compatible receiver for “5.1” or ‘dts’
surround sound.
You must use the Y-cable provided to enable
these functions
(S/PDIF connection is to the longer end of the ca-
ble).
