Instructions on operation:
Provide an uncluttered, anti-slip location with
adequate illumination.
Before tool changes, making adjustments and
eliminating malfunctions (including the removal
of trapped splinters), remove the interchangea-
ble battery from the machine.
Never work with pieces which are too big or too
small for the machine´s capacity.
Always use the riving knife / splitter and set it
correctly as described in this manual.
The retractable protective guard must not be
arrested when open.
The switch must not be clamped in position.
Before switching on, make sure that the saw
blade ist tightly secured and that the Allen key
has been removed.
Whenever possible, secure the workpiece
against slipping (e.g. with screw clamps).
Do not begin cutting until the saw blade has
reached full speed.
Examine the workpiece for foreign objects.
Never attempt to cut nails or other metal
objects.
Move the cordless portable circular saw in a
straight line and without tipping it over in order
to avoid getting the saw blade stuck in the work-
piece.
Keep your hands away from the underside of
the workpiece when sawing (risk of injury!).
Match the feed rate to the thickness of the work-
piece when sawing. Excessive feed rates over-
load the motor, lead to poorly executed cuts,
and blunt the saw blade prematurely.
Do not remove the machine from the workpiece
until the saw blade is stationary.
Always keep your hands well away from the
chip ejection area while the machine is running.
No attempt must be made to slow down the saw
blade by applying lateral pressure to its surface.
The sawdust created by cutting makes it difficult
to see as clearly as may be necessary and can
be damaging to health in certain circumstances.
If not working outdoors or on well ventilated
premises, the machine must be connected to an
extractor unit, such as a small portable dust
extractor, when operating for long periods. The
air velocity must be at least 20 m/s (65.6 ft/sec.).
Instructions on service and maintenance:
Regular cleaning of the machine, especially the
adjusting devices for the base plate and guide-
ways, is an important safety factor. Before begin-
ning this task, remove the battery from the
machine.
Only original MAFELL spare parts and acces-
sories must be used. Otherwise the manufac-
turer does not offer any warranty and does not
accept any liability.

Charging the battery
The nominal voltage of the rechargeable battery
must conform to the specifications on the machine.
The battery and the charger are matched to each
other. For charging purposes, only a MAFELL rapid
charging device may be used.
If a new machine is used, the battery must be
charged first. A new battery only offers full power
after approx. 5 charging and discharging cycles.
For commissioning of the rapid charging device and for
a description of the charging process, please refer to
the enclosed "APS Akku - Power - Station" manual.
The rechargeable battery has been equipped with a
temperature monitor which only allows for charging
in the temperature range between 5°C and 45°C.
This ensures a long service life of the battery.
If the operating times after the respective charging
processes considerably decrease, the battery is
used-up and must be replaced.
Do not put down the battery on a heater or expose it
to strong solar radiation over longer periods of time.
Temperatures exceeding 50°C are harmful. Cool
down the warmed battery prior to the charging proc-
ess.
Protect the battery against heat and
fire:
Risk of explosion !
