Switching on:
To switch on the drive of the saw
blade press rocker key 22 (Fig. 1) in direction "
∆
"
and keep it pressed.
•
Switching off:
To switch off the drive of the saw
blade release rocker key 22. Saw blade and for-
ward momentum come to a stillstand in less than
10 seconds.
4.6
Longitudinal cuts
To perform a longitudinal cut after marking proceed
as follows:
• Place the system with the saw assembly in start-
ing position onto the vertically and slip-proof posi-
tioned workpiece so that the saw assembly is in
front of the front edge of the workpiece.
• Align system for the right edge of the guide track
to mark the desired cut.
• Adjust cutting depth (see paragraph 4.2).
• Adjust cutting length (see paragraph 4.3).
• Unlock saw blade in resting position by pressing
plunge lever 20 (Fig. 6) and push saw into the
cutting position until it locks at clamping lever 21.
• Select forward momentum (see paragraph 4.4)
and switch on saw (see paragraph 4.5).
• Perform cutting by pressing rocker key 22
(Fig. 1) in direction "
∆
" until the saw assembly
touches the stop slide bar 16 (Fig. 6) which will
cause the saw blade to return automatically from
the cutting position into the resting position.
Move saw assembly into starting position by press-
ing the rocker key in direction "
∇
". When the resting
position is reached the backward momentum is
switched off automatically.
4.7
Plunge cuts
This system also performs plunge cuts safely, as
there is no danger of kickback otherwise common in
this type of work.
Plunge cuts are performed as follows:
• By pressing rocker key 22 (Fig. 1) in direction "D"
move saw assembly to the point where the front
marking 23 (Fig. 6) is in line with the desired end
of the plunge cut as marked on the workpiece.
• Adjust stop slide bar 16 in the cutting groove of
the guide track so that its position amounts to
approximately 120 mm (4 3/4 in.) more than the
desired cutting length.
• By pressing rocker key in direction "
∇
" move saw
assembly to the point where the rear marking 24
is in line with the desired beginning of the plunge
cut as marked on the workpiece.
The saw blade starts up immediately.
Shortly thereafter the forward
momentum starts up.
It is very important to observe the
instructions with regard to sawing
contained in the chapter "safety
instructions"!
Note: Forward momentum is only active
as long as the rocker key is pressed.
Upon releasing of the key, forward
momentum and saw drive are shut down
immediately.
The saw blade can rotate also in
return movement.
Only slide back saw assembly when
the saw blade is in resting position as
otherwise the cutting edge of the work-
piece might get damaged!
If for some reason the forward momen-
tum is interrupted before the start slide
bar has been reached, the saw blade
must be moved into the resting posi-
tion by activating clamping lever 21
(Fig. 6) before a backward momen-
tum can be initiated.
The saw blade turns.
Note: The marking only matches the
desired plunging point when the saw
assembly has been adjusted to maxi-
mum cutting depth.
