AF area
The menu option “AF area” is used to determine on which area the camera focuses.
[
]
Spot
: A very small point at the centre of the image is measured.
[
]
Multi
: The camera selects the best Auto focus range from 9 possible areas. The range
on which the focussing is based is shown in green.
[
]
Tracking
: Point the camera onto an object on which it is to focus and press
shutter release half down. The focussing frame then follows the object.
AF lamp
The AF light function allows photos to be taken even at low-light conditions. If the AF light
is set to “On”, the red AF light on the front of the camera lights up when the shutter release is
pressed half way down, allowing simple focussing of the camera.
Face tracking
Using this setting, the camera automatically recognises up to 8 faces and focuses on the
faces when the shutter release is pressed.
Recognised faces are surrounded by a white frame.
Subject matters not suited for this function:
Persons wearing glasses or sunglasses or whose faces are covered by hats,
caps or hair.
Persons whose heads are turned to the side.
Burst
When the sequence option is selected, the camera continues to take photos until the
memory is full and for as long as the shutter release is pressed. Sequence shooting stops as
soon as the finger is lifted off the shutter release.
