The ring buffer
Each memory area has its own ring buffer. As soon as one of the areas is full, the correspond-
ing ring buffer starts erasing the oldest data in that area. Initially, only the data in the full
memory area are deleted, the data in the other memory area are kept.
Of course, it can happen that in an older time range, not all data of all interfaces are available
anymore, because the two ring buffers act completely independent from each other and are not
synchronized.
