2 Important information
Please read the instructions carefully before in-
stalling and using for the first time. Follow the in-
structions. Pass these instructions on to the
owner for safekeeping.
The fan may only be installed, set up, retrofitted,
commissioned, cleaned, serviced or repaired by
installers specialised in ventilation techno-
logy
. Electrical connection, commissioning, main-
tenance and repairs may only be carried out by
qualified electricians
in accordance with the ap-
plicable electrical engineering regulations (DIN
EN 50110-1, DIN EN 60204-1 etc.).
Qualifications/requirements:
Specialist training
and knowledge of technical standards, EU Direct-
ives and EU Ordinances. The installations must
be carried out professionally. Observe applicable
accident prevention requirements. Observe occu-
pational health and safety measures: protective
clothing in good repair etc.
3 Scope of delivery
• ERR duct fan
• Accessory bag in the terminal box: Cable grom-
met and tension relief with 2 fixing screws
• These installation and operating instructions
4 Intended use
This fan is used for air extraction or ventilation in
machine and workplace areas, manufacturing
plants, storage rooms, laboratories, workshops,
common rooms, rooms without windows, etc.
Operation is only permitted:
• indoors
• with ERR fan installed directly between ducts.
Folded spiral-seams ducts with a suitable nom-
inal size are permissible.
• with ERR fan permanently installed on wall,
ceiling or bracket. For mounting, we recom-
mend the optional mounting foot FUR. The
mounting location must have sufficient load-
bearing capacity.
• with permanent electrical installation.
• when installed with elastic flexible couplings
(these prevent vibration transmission to the
duct system).
• with free inlet or outlet with protection against
accidental contact in accordance with EN ISO
13857, for example with Maico protective grille
SGR.
ERR are duct fans for household and light com-
mercial use.
5 Safety instructions
DANGER Risk of combustion/fire from
flammable materials, liquids or gases in the
vicinity of the unit.
Do not place any flammable materials, liquids or
gases near the unit, which may ignite in the event
of heat or sparks and catch fire.
NOTICE Damage to unit due to steam-satur-
ated or greasy air or adhering solid particles.
Steam-saturated or greasy air or solid particles
which may adhere to the unit, can soil the unit
and reduce the efficiency.
Never use unit to convey these substances.
DANGER Explosive gases and dust may
ignite and cause serious explosions or fire.
Never use fan unit in an explosive atmosphere
(risk of explosion).
