When using cellullose casing, we recommend to select the rubber cone of same size as the caliber casing
or 1 mm smaller in case the same size is too tight and breaks the casing.
When using collagen casing, we recommend to select the rubber cone 1 mm smaller than caliber casing.
If it's too loose and the casing does not twist, then try same size as casing.
When twisting natural casing, you need to add the optional outer sleeve to avoid the casing rolls up with
the twisting nozzle and breaks. See above photos of outer sleeve.
Twisting natural casing is less precise than artificial casing because it has no exact diameter. The caliber on
a natural casing always varies at least 2 mm. We recommend to select the rubber cone 1 or 2 mm smaller
than the smallest size. If the casing does not twist properly, then try a rubber cone 1 mm bigger.
For instance, with sheep casing 20/22 caliber, we recommend to select the rubber cone of 18 or 19 mm.
Using hog casing 32/35 caliber, we recommend to select the rubber cone of 31 or 32 mm and see which
one works better.
You always need to check which rubber cone fits better with every different casing. There are many different
brands and types. The same caliber casing from 2 different brands may not fit with the same rubber cone size.
Every casing needs to be individually tested in order to find the rubber cone that fits better.
