Step 1:
De-dust the standby fan module as follows. After the maintenance personnel
correctly wear the anti-static wrist or gloves, use cleaning tools, such as a clean
cotton cloth, anti-static brush, and cleaner, to dedust the fan blade and control
circuit board. The dedusted fan module should be free from dust.
Step 2:
Replace the fan module to be dedusted. For detailed steps, refer to
. The entire process of replacing the fan module should be
quick and timely. Otherwise, it may cause chassis over-temperature, which will
severely threaten the device security and stable running.
Step 3:
The replaced and dedusted fan module will serve as the standby fan module.
6.2.2 De-dust Card
To reduce the maintenance risks, de-dust the card in the period with small traffic volumes.
During the device operation, due to the charged card and cross ventilation in the device
dissipation, the card will inevitably absorb and accumulate the charged particle or dust in the
air. When the air cleanliness is weaker and the relative humidity is lower, this absorption
process is stronger. When the dust accumulates to a certain degree, the heat dissipation rate
and electrical insulation performance will be badly affected, which further brings potential
dangers for the stable running of the router.
To ensure the long-term stable running of the router, the maintenance personnel should de-
dust all the service boards comprehensively and regularly, once for two year recommended.
The de-dusting process is as follows:
Step 1:
Prepare a standby card: When the maintenance personnel de-dust the card, first
prepare one standby card for the card to be de-dusted.
Step 2:
Replace the card to be de-dusted. For details, refer to

Step 3:
Dedust the replaced card.
There are many methods to de-dust the card. However, the overall principle is that the
physical and electrical specifications of the interface daughter card cannot be damaged.
When using a vacuum cleaner, use a clean and dry anti-static soft brush to gently remove
the dust on the surface of the card, and meanwhile, use the suction nozzle of the vacuum
cleaner to aim at the anti-static brush, which achieves the brushing and absorbing the dust
