OPERATION
Attaching the shoulder harness
WARNING:
Be extremely careful to maintain
control of the tool at all times. Do not allow the
tool to be de ected toward you or anyone in the
w ork vicinity.

CAUTION:
Alw ays use the shoulder harness
attached to the tool. Before operation, adjust the
shoulder harness according to the user siz e to
prevent fatigue.
CAUTION:
Before operation, make sure that
the shoulder harness is properly attached to the
hanger on the tool.
CAUTION:
W hen you use the tool in combi-
nation of the backpack-type pow er supply such
as portable pow er pack, do not use the shoulder
harness included in the tool package, but use the
hanging band recommended by Makita.
If y o u p u t o n t h e s h o u l d e r h a r n e s s i n c l u d e d i n t h e
t o o l p a c k a g e a n d t h e s h o u l d e r h a r n e s s o f t h e b a c k -
p a c k -t y p e p o w e r s u p p l y a t t h e s a m e t i m e , r e m o v i n g
the tool or backpack-type power supply is difficult in
c a s e o f a n e m e r g e n c y , a n d i t m a y c a u s e a n a c c i d e n t
or injury. For the recommended hanging band, ask

than 15m (50 ft) distance betw een operators w hen

arrange a person to observe the distance betw een
operators. If someone or an animal enter the
w orking area, immediately stop the operation.

If the cutting tool accidentally
impacts a rock or hard object during operation,
stop the tool and inspect for any damage. If the
cutting tool is damaged, replace it immediately.
